> Guidelines for Bardstown Farmers' Market
GUIDELINES
FOR BARDSTOWN FARMERS' MARKET
1.
LOCATION: The Farmers Market will be located in that portion of
the City of Bardstown Parking Lot as designated by the appropriate
signs and directional markings near the downtown area. The Farmer's
Market is on East Flaget, between North 2nd and North 3rd Street.
2.
TIME: The Farmers Market will begin the first Saturday in June and
will be open until approximately October 31, 2006. The market will
be open four (4) days a week, on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays
from 8:00 a.m. until approximately 12:00 p.m. and Thursday evenings
from 3:00 p.m. until approximately 6:30 p.m. or until the produce
is sold. Participants are not allowed to set up before 7:30 a.m.
on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays or before 2:30 p.m. on Thursdays.
3.
PERMIT: A permit must be purchased before participants sell produce
at the Bardstown Farmers Market. Permit fees may be changed at the
start of each market season as deemed necessary.
4.
Space is available on a first-come-first served basis. Limited to
one parking space per participant.
5.
Participation in the Bardstown Farmers Market is restricted to homegrown
vegetables, fruits, flowers, etc. or produce grown in the participant's
garden or on the participant's farm, which must be in Kentucky.
6.
First register at Bardstown City Hall, 220 North 5th Street, Bardstown,
KY 40004, and acknowledge receipt of these guidelines and rules.
The permit MUST be so all customers of the Market can plainly see
the permit at all times while participating in the Bardstown Farmers
Market.
7.
No crafts or flea market items are permitted in the Market.
8.
Participants will be responsible for policing and/or cleaning up
their area at the end of each market day.
9.
Participants assume full responsibility for the premises during
the time that they are participating in Farmers Market activities.
Participants shall indemnify, hold harmless and defend the City
of Bardstown against any and all claims, actions, damages, liabilities
and expenses, including but not limited to, attorneys' and other
professional fees and defense costs arising from the loss of life,
personal injury and/or damage to person or property occurring in,
on, or about the premises or arising from any loss of life, personal
injury, and/or damage to any person or property resulting from any
act, omission, or negligence of the participant, his agents, employees
or invitees.
10.
The City of Bardstown reserves the right to alter rules as deemed
necessary.
11.
Participants must comply with all local, state, or federal laws,
label or food safety and handling regulations. Any participant having
obtained a Home-based Processor Registration, Home-based Microprocessor
Certification, or a commercial permit MUST display it so all customers
can plainly see.
12.
WIC and Senior Program (Farmers' Market Nutrition Program) participants
agree to sign their names as well as their farmer ID number to the
back of the coupons prior to turning them into the Market Coordinator
at City Hall. WIC and Senior Program (Farmers' Market Nutrition
Program) participants MUST display a "We Gladly Accept Kentucky
Farmers' Market Nutrition Program Coupons/Checks " sign so
all customers can plainly see (Sign provided by Bardstown Farmers'
Market). All participants agree to follow all WIC and Senior coupon
rules and regulations.
13.
Participants agree that in the event they violate any of the guidelines
or rules set out above, they shall be prohibited from further participation
in the Farmers Market for the remainder of the season.
