The Bardstown Parks & Recreation Department is now taking sign-ups for the Bardstown Barracuda Swim Team! Participants must be 5 years old as of June 1st of the current year.

Barracudas Swim Team Information
Registration will be taken 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday at the Bardstown Recreation Department, 116 North Fifth Street. For additional information call the Recreation Department at (502) 348-9281 

Meets
Home meets will be on Monday evenings (warm-ups at 5pm / meet begins at 6pm.)

Practice
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
10 - 18 years age group: 3:30 –5:00 pm
5-9 years age group: 3:30 – 4:30 pm

COST
Cost is $100.00 per participant.  Swim Team members must purchase and wear a black one-piece suit or jammers. Participants will receive a Barracuda team T-shirt and swim cap.

Parents Assistance
Parents’ assistance at swim meets and championship is required. Six time-keepers are needed from each team at every meet. Parents will be assigned jobs in an alphabetical rotation, by last name. 

Swim Team or Swim Lessons?
Swim team is a competitive swimming sport, not swim lessons. Please use good judgment on your child’s ability as to whether he/she is capable of participating. After a swim evaluation by the coaches which entails swimming one distinguishable stroke 25 meters without assistance or stopping on the first day of practice, it may be recommended that your child enroll in swim lessons.
