All events are free and open to anyone who would like to attend. We hope you will attend these events and continue to support the preservation efforts of our community!

LEARN ABOUT THE HRB AND CERTIFICATE
OF APPROPRIATENESS APPLICATIONS
These workshops will also be an excellent opportunity to meet with Preservation Coordinator RaShae Jennings and ask questions about the Bardstown Historic Review Board rules and regulations, as well as the Certificate of Appropriateness (COA) application process. Pizza and drinks will be provided at the events.

THE WORKSHOPS

HISTORIC WINDOW REPAIR
Speaker: Frank Welch of Welch Glass
Thursday February 8, 2018 6 pm -7 pm
2nd Floor Conference Room, City of Bardstown
Education Complex (COBEC), 219 E Muir St.

Frank Welch of Welch Glass will lead a workshop on wood repair, reglazing, maintenance and longevity of historic wood windows. Attendees will also have an opportunity to meet with City of Bardstown Preservation Coordinator RaShae Jennings and learn about the Certificate of Appropriateness (COA) application process and Historic Review Board rules and regulations. Pizza and drinks provided.

INSULATION OF HISTORIC HOMES AND HISTORIC WOOD FLOOR REPAIR
Speakers Keith West and Timmy Roundtree
Thursday March 1, 2018 6 pm -7:30 pm
2nd Floor Conference Room, City of Bardstown
Education Complex (COBEC), 219 E Muir St.

Keith West will be discussing how to work with historic millwork, woodwork, and trim in historic homes as well as how to prep and paint historic strucutres. Mr. West will also be discussing techniques to insulate historic homes. Timmy Roundtree will also present on the most effective way to preserve and repair your historic hardwood floors. Pizza and drinks provided.

HISTORIC LANDSCAPING
Speaker: Robbie Smith
Thursday  May 10, 2018 6 pm -7 pm
2nd Floor Conference Room, City of Bardstown
Education Complex (COBEC), 219 E Muir St.

Robbie Smith will present a variety of historic plants that would have been available in the late 1800s and early 1900s. This will allows individuals to landscape their homes with plants that would have been available during that time period. He will also discuss plants that are part of the same species that may be more bug and disease resistant. Pizza and drinks provided.
