§ ll6.0l DAILY REGISTER REQUIRED.
It shall be the duty of all persons dealing in the purchase or exchange of secondhand or antique jewelry, coins, watches, diamonds, or other precious stones, cutlery, old gold, silver, platinum, or other precious metals, or any other secondhand manufactured articles, composed wholly or in part of gold, silver, platinum, or other precious metals, to keep a daily register on a form provided by the Police Department, of every article purchase or exchanged by them in the course of their business and the persons from whom the articles were acquired. The register shall contain as minute a description of each article as is possible, including any identifi- cation numbers, and the manufacturer's name, as well as the name, age, sex, race, address, driver's license number, general descrip- tion of, and signature of the individual selling or exchanging the article.

§ ll6.02 COPY OF REGISTER TO BE FURNISHED TO CHIEF OF POLICE.
All persons engaged in business as described in §ll6.0l shall furnish to the Chief of Police each day, at the Police Department, by l2:00 noon, a copy of the register of all transactions which took place during the preceding day.

§ ll6.03 ARTICLES TO BE KEPT SEPARATED BY DAY OF RECEIPT.
All persons engaged in business as described in §ll6.0l shall retain each and every article received by them in the same state or condition in which it was received, and all articles received during any one day's transaction shall be kept separately and shall not be commingled with articles received during any other day's transactions.

§ ll6.04 EXAMINATION OF ARTICLES BY POLICE; ALTERATION BY DEALER.
All articles received by dealers shall be made available for examination within the city to members of the Police Department, and the Sheriff's Department, state police, or other law enforcement officials for a period of five consecutive days after their receipt, before the articles are resold or exchanged, unless written permis-sion is obtained from the Chief of Police. No person engaged in business as described in §ll6.0l shall alter the shape, form, or configuration of any article received by him during the five consecutive day period set forth in this section.

§ ll6.05 DEPOSIT.
All persons engaged in business as described in §ll6.0l operating out of a mobile unit, or operating a business which is otherwise transient in nature, shall, upon registering with the Police Department when beginning business, deposit with the Police Department the sum of $l,000 in cash. When the persons desire to leave town they shall go to the Police Department with a final list of all purchases and the police shall then, within five days, review the list and if the list is complete and accurate the Police Department shall return the deposit to the person at the end of the five days.

§ ll6.06 PURCHASE FROM MINOR PROHIBITED.
No person engaged in business as described in §ll6.0l shall purchase or exchange secondhand or antique jewelry, coins, watches, diamonds or other precious stones, cutlery, old gold, silver, platinum, or other precious metals, or any other secondhand manufactured articles composed wholly or in part of gold, silver, platinum, or other precious metals from any person less than l8 years of age.

§ ll6.07 EXEMPTIONS.
Nothing contained herein shall require compliance of this chapter by a person engaging in business within the city who possesses a current business license from the city and is doing either of the following.
(A) Accepting returns for cash, credit, or replacement of any item originally purchased from the person.
(B) Exchanging an item for another item of greater value.

§ ll6.99 PENALTY.
Violation of any of the duties, requirements, or prohibitions contained in this chapter shall be punishable as a Class A misdemeanor.
