Wastewater
The City of Bardstown treats wastewater for residential, commercial, and industrial customers throughout the City and other areas of Nelson County. Wastewater is delivered to the two Wastewater Treatment Plants, also known as Sewer Plants, through a 75-mile pipe system where pollutants are treated and removed prior to discharging to natural waterways such as rivers and streams.
The Town Creek Treatment Plant was originally built in 1960 and expanded in 1980 to treat three million gallons per day. The Lower Beech Fork Treatment Plant designed to treat four million gallons per day, was built and started operation in 2002.
