Governor Beshear Announces State Grants to City and Local Nonprofits

On Friday, May 12th, Governor Andy Beshear visited Bardstown to announce several state grants awarded to Nelson and Hardin County nonprofits, as well as a $150,000 grant to the City of Bardstown for the expansion of the downtown Mayor’s Park! The total amount of announced grant funding coming into Nelson County was over $530,000.

Expanding The Mayor's Park

It will also improve the viewshed when driving down 3rd street, welcoming folks to Bardstown's downtown business district.

The State of Kentucky provided grants to a multitude of nonprofit organizations, with missions ranging from healthcare to social programs to disaster relief and food assistance programs, to the arts.

The City of Bardstown appreciates the support that comes from our state government, which helps allow so many of our wonderful nonprofits to continue to do good work and make our community stronger.
