First Digital Walking Tour of Bardstown

First Digital Walking Tour of Bardstown is Launched

L. RaShae Jennings (Preservation Coordinator) and Dixie Hibbs (Local Historian and Author) are proud to announce the first Digital Walking Tour of Bardstown entitled Bardstown: A Walk Through Time.” This digital tour was made possible with the support of The Nelson County Historical Society and the City of Bardstown Preservation Archives. The project received funding through a Certified Local Government sub-grant as part of the annual Historic Preservation fund allocated to the Kentucky Heritage Council by The National Park Service.

Take a step back in time and experience Bardstown as it was 50 or even 150 years ago! With a focus on the buildings and streetscapes that have been preserved in our community, this tour seeks to virtually and visually connect users with Bardstown throughout history. As you follow along on your smartphone or tablet, you will be able to view historic photos of the locations you see today, enabling you to visualize the buildings and streetscapes in different eras.

We hope you enjoy this tour and walk away with a greater understanding of Bardstown as a place with unique and important history! The tour is available on the website:
