First Responders Pay Tribute to 9/11 Victims


9/11 First Responders WreathLowering the flagFirst responders from Bardstown and Nelson County gathered on court square Tuesday morning to remember those that were lost seventeen years ago during the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in a Pennsylvania field. The flag was lowered to half mast while Amazing Grace was played. Mayor Dick Heaton and Judge Exectutive Dean Watts gave remarks about the tragedy, and the importance of remembering those who lost their lives during the attacks. They also thanked first responders for their daily sacrifice to put the safety of others above their own.
