Water Plant Operator
The City of Bardstown is looking for a qualified individual to fill a full-time position of Water Plant Operator I, II, III, or IV/Operator Trainee.

Job duties

1. Performs daily operation and maintenance duties at the wastewater plant in compliance with established procedures and standards and federal, state and local laws and ordinances.
2. Inspects pumps, charts, gauges, and meters on a scheduled basis.
3. Adjusts chemicals in accordance with prescribed standards; collects samples and performs laboratory tests or forwards to laboratories as required; prepares, records and forwards lab results.
4. Prepares and maintains accurate reports/records.
5. Assists with servicing and performing preventive maintenance on plant and equipment; makes minor repairs and/or adjustments to plant and equipment; forwards requests for major repairs and/or equipment and tools to superiors.
6. Maintains and cleans plant and grounds.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must be able to work flexible shifts. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.

CHief Water Plant Operator

The City of Bardstown is looking for a qualified individuals to fill the full-time position of Chief Water Plant Operator.

Job duties

1. Supervises all activities and programs at the water plant. Supervises water plant operators; approves time sheets; authorized vacation leave.
2. Assures monitoring and maintenance of plant and equipment in accordance with preventive maintenance program.
3. Assures addition of or adds chemicals in accordance with prescribed standards; adjusts chemicals as necessary.
4. Prepares and maintains accurate reports/records.
5. Assures the timely collection, recording and/or forwarding of samples for lab tests.
6. Maintains adequate inventory of spare parts, chemicals, equipment and tools.
7. Assures clean and neat plant and grounds.
8. Assists in the daily operation and maintenance of the water plant in compliance with established procedures and standards and federal, state and local laws, administrative regulations and ordinances.
9. Attends training programs to maintain license; assists in scheduling plant operators for training programs.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have a Class IV Water Operators License. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
